I know hakko sells a hepa filter for the fa400 but it looks like its something that has been discontinued or is going to be discontinued since they are hard to find and i dont know how to order from the hakko website. I can still return some stuff if i need to but in the case of getting a better fume extractor, i cant justify buying a 300 dollar fume extractor for as infrequent as i will actually be soldering. If i dont use it for a few days or weeks, will it go bad and be a waste of money or will it be usable and functioning until the face of the filter is caked in white rosin fumes? Is this enough for my soldering? Will i get lung damaged from soldering using this? Should i still have my window opened? Would i need a table top fan point at me while using this extractor?Īlso, since i dont know how often ill be using my equipment, i did read that the activated carbon starts working and deteriorating once the plastic packaging is opened. It does have an activated carbon filter though. I bought a hakko fa 400 04 benchtop but noticed it doesnt have a hepa filter. I just learned about fumes and figured id like to have functioning lungs so im interested in extractors now.

I order about 15 modules through Mouser electronics company as well. I looked up how to replace the analog modules and it seemed easy enough. Stick drift is a huge issue with players that go too rough with these controllers and i dont really feel like buying a new one at about 65 to 70 ish USD every time one gets stick drift. The items im mainly wanting to do asap are failing xbox one controllers especially since the newest xbox will use them and i have an xbox of my own. I dont know if the 60/40 is rosin core tho.Īnyway, i plan to basically do infrequent, small device like soldering.
